(Chicago) – If you are looking for something romantic, Tango Sur can be your place. If you want something intimate to spend a night with your close friends and share some great and reasonably-priced steak, you can come to this Argentinean steak house in Southport.
The steaks here are not the best in town but they are good enough, absolutely affordable and the cuts are huge. A steak entrée here is big enough to be shared by 2 for the price almost half as that of Morton’s or Ruth Chris’. If you are craving for steak but do not want to drain your wallet, well, you will love Tango Sur. This is main reason why I keep coming back here.
And the second top reason why Tango Sur is dear to me: it is BYOB. How great is that? You can bring your own wine or any beverage. For social drinkers like me (no violent reaction, por favor), a BYOB restaurant is a happy place J It can save you a lot of bucks. Drink to your heart’s content! But just a friendly reminder: be a responsible drinker. Don’t drink and drive; just drink what you can tolerate.
The food here in Tango Sur never disappoints me. I have celebrated birthdays here, cried with friends during worst of days and brought visiting friends, hoping to give them a memorable dinner in Chicago without busting their budget. I have never left this place frustratingly hungry. The freshly baked bread, the appetizers, empanadas, steaks and even desserts are all as delectable in reality as they appear in pictures below.

Argentina is not just about Evita, whose pictures are scattered all over the walls of the restaurant. Argentina is more than just dancing the exotic and intense tango, either. Be informed or reminded that Argentina is one of the great contributors to the art of grilling meat and its chimichurri sauce, either used as marinade or condiment to empanada or to the cooked steak itself, is categorically delicious.
