(Chicago) – Pannen.. what?! Don’t fret; this is just pancake in Dutch.  But not the usual fluffy and ultra sweet pancake your mom makes in the morning or the ones you get at IHOP. The Dutch version is thin, just slightly thicker and denser than a crepe; and resembles like a pizza, just flatly spread with lots of either savory or sweet toppings.

It looks deceivingly huge but pretty manageable to eat, at least for me, since it is thin. The name might sound foreign and the overall looks of the pancake might be different; but all flavors are familiar and most importantly delicious.

  • Chocolate Banana – covered with sliced bananas, drizzled with imported European chocolate then topped with toasted hazelnuts, homemade whipped cream and sprinkled with powdered sugar

  • Sausage, mushroom and Cheese – thick and juicy sliced sausage links and mushroom topped with creamy havarti

  • From the outside

  • Dutch arts inside

  • Hot chocolate – i love the mug!
