(Chicago) – I just fell in-love with H-Mart the first time I went there. It is a huge Korean grocery store selling fresh produce/seafood, authentic Korean stuffs and other Asian, including Filipino, products. It has counter service restaurants and some specialty food stores in the establishment. When I first visited this place, I just came from a buffet lunch and I was extremely full to even try the free food samplers scattered throughtout the place. Such a waste. So I left with a threat that I will be back soon—hungry and ready to savor the fresh Korean food of Hmart.
So a couple of weeks later, I came back to H-Mart with a hunger to quench. I went straight to the fast food area which has 4-6 food stalls to choose from. I don’t have the mental energy to analyze where to go. So I headed towards the one with the most customers at the counter. There must be a reason why people flock at Durebak. And after finishing my lunch, I already know why. T
he food we got are different, almost exotic to my palate, but seriously delicious and comforting.
Haejangguk – Spicy hot beef and vegetable soup and rice
Sulrungtang – Beef bone soup with slices of shank meat
I wish I had a replaceable stomach so that I could substitute an empty one and try the other dishes. But then again, I can always come back . For sure, I will be back.
