(Chicago) – Lamb is my most favorite meat of all time. No questions asked. So any cuisine that incorporates my “lamby” baby in its repertoire is an easy favorite or at least likeable to my palate. This is the primary reason why I love Mediterranean cuisine.

Other than lamb, the rich flavors of olive oil, garlic and spices such as dills, oregano and thyme are valid reasons to love this cuisine. And whenever I crave for Mediterranean when I’m in Chicago, I go to a neighborhood restaurant that offers reasonably-priced and delicious dishes in Andersonville area called Andie’s. The shanks are lovely!

  • Braised Lamb Shank – Deliciously seasoned with Middle-eastern spices slowly cooked, marinara lamb sauce, fresh vegetables of the day

  • Greek Style Skirt Steak – Marinated and char grilled, mushroom wine sauce and vegetable medley

  • Eggplant Involtini – Baked eggplant stuffed with seasoned Sirloin beef, onion, garlic, spices, marinara, basmati rice

  • Baklava – pastry filled with chopped nuts and honey

  • Free Pita – Love this!

  • Mediterranean-inspired Mojito and Sangria
