(New York) –  This is one place that excites me the most about coming to New York.  Right on the 3rd floor of Time Warner Center in Columbus Circle, there stands a petite bakery serving extraordinary baked goods, chocolates and some French bistro fares.

For those who are not aware, this boulangerie is owned by Thomas Keller who is one the most respectable and exceptional chefs of our time. He is also the owner of the world famous restaurant, French Laundry in Napa Valley, CA.  His restaurants are phenomenal but extremely expensive so only a few people can afford to experience his greatness. A few years back, he created Bouchon restaurants which serve moderately priced French bistro food. Then, recently, he brought his culinary genius much closer to the people through Bouchon Bakery.

The food here seems too sophisticated for a quick lunch before heading to Central Park for a mile walk of photo sessions. 🙂 But the food is very inexpensive and accessible.  There was a line when I got there but it’s moving fast and I saw continuous movement of food coming out of the kitchen. And the food, awesome! The quiche I think is the best I have tasted so far. It is smooth, soft, fluffy and tasty.  You can easily tell how bad those quiches you get in Starbucks after tasting Bouchon’s version. Even the soup is so deeply flavorful and the croissant is just addictively flakey and buttery. I love it!
