soup and by the time I was halfway through the dish, I was sweating from the chili. Surprisingly, I found it to be really good. It kind of reminds me Lucky Me pancit canton.
I went there several times whenever I had the craving for the Prawn Noodles. I have also tried the dish at several other places but so far, this has got to be my favorite. They moved to another location and since I didn’t know the name of the shop I didn’t know how to find it. I eventually managed to find some reviews of the shop when I recognized it from the photos. The name of this place is Ta Lu Prawn Noodle and is now found at China Square Central.
When ordering, I recommend the Prawn and Rib noodle. You can have Prawn only if you like but I prefer the mix. You have the option for it to be served dry or with soup. (Although, the dry dish comes with a bowl of soup so it’s pretty much the same.)
You can pick what size the serving is, what kind of noodle to use and whether to add chili or not. They have other dishes as well like carrot cake, rojak, minced meat noodle, porridge and other items. The prawns are shelled which makes it easier to eat, especially with chopsticks, and the pork rib is tender. The soup is savory and delicious. The serving is good enough to fill you up if you are not a heavy eater.
They also serve fresh fruit juice and slices if you need something sweet afterwards. While it is not as cheap as hawker stalls, this is definitely a must try. Check out the place during the weekends to avoid the office crowd.
