
Shabu-shabu is a Japanese meal where you have to cook your own food by boiling the ingredients in a hotpot – thus healthier than fried! In “Healthy Shabu Shabu”, we had individual stove tops, unlike the one I tried in Singapore where you had to share one huge hotpot. I must say it is a fun experience as eve
ryone is so busy to cook their own food and you can put whatever ingredients you want in your own hotpot. We chose the vegetable plate and the seafood deluxe to share. The vegetable plate comes with lettuce, cabbage, carrots, corn, crabsticks, tofu, yam, tomato, mushrooms, squid balls, fish balls and noodles (clear and egg noodles). The seafood deluxe has prawns, oysters, fish fillet, squid and scallops.
We all enjoyed our dinner except my youngest sister as she does not like seeing her food raw prior to consumption! I must say that I find this restaurant a bit pricey though as it costs around SGD120 for 5 people a-la-carte, while in Singapore, I can have a shabu-shabu buffet at SGD18 per head only (do the math, it’s only SGD90 unlimited for 5 pax). Nevertheless, we all had our fill and everyone is satisfied.
