(Singapore) – Once in Manila, now in Singapore!  Seems like it has been stalking me as I have never eaten in the Manila resto.  Somehow it managed to find me here in Singapore!  I have not tried Chili’s in Manila before – not for any reason but because all along I thought it only serves hot hot hot food as the name implies.  Well, fortunately, for not-too-much-spicy lovers like me, I managed to step into the Mexican ambience that is Chili’s Singapore!

chili_1Chili’s is located off Orchard Road, in a quaint mall called Tanglin Mall (along Tanglin Road).  Can’t help but notice that most of the shoppers and residents nearby are expats, something like Holland Village – another nightspot here in Singapore for expats.   The place is always packed especially during dinner time, so when I asked for a table, they asked me to wait and they gave me this device which will buzz when your table is ready!  Cool eh? In this way, you are not bored waiting outside, but you can stroll around the mall and just go back when you feel the buzzing sensation originating from the device – it’s like the best sensation ever, like it’s signaling me – “your yummy food is coming soon!!!”

I wanna order baby back ribs!  And of course, who can resist Mexican Margaritas (Pepper in some good times)!!!

Alright, enough about the taunting menus, time to order the real thingy!!!

These tostada chips are “bottomless”, meaning you can snack as much as you want including the salsa! The best part is, you can even take home your leftover, but they won’t give you your leftover, they will give you a new bag with salsa for FREE!!!

The waiter insisted for us to try the cheesy dip for the tostada chips – pure yum yum goodness!

While waiting for our main course, I can’t help but look around the place, damn it’s so colorful, a feast for the eyes!

Okay enough, our food is here!!! Waiting time is around 15-20 minutes, not bad!  We ordered the Rib ‘n Chix combo, the mashed potato and apple pie filling is to die for!!!  The ribs are very tender, and the chicken has bacon all over it, yum yum!

On a healthy note, we ordered some grilled salmon with butter rice and broccoli on the side

After munching on all of these delectable delights, on my way home I realized, “Hey where did the chili go?”  I didn’t manage to order anything spicy at all!  There goes my misconception on the restaurant’s name, now I can try the one in Manila after all!

Location: Tanglin Mall along Tanglin Road, Singapore
