(Chicago) – When I fancy Asian food and I can’t think of anywhere else to go, my default go-to restaurant is Joy Yee’s.  I’ve been coming to this place for years and I can’t recall an instant when I complained about the food or I left the table unsatisfied. With the hundreds of items in their menu, there should be at least one or two dishes that should falter or at least offend my taste; that is yet to happen. Or it might not happen at all.

The year that Zagu Pearl Fruit Shake was so famous in Manila, was also the year that I started travelling to Chicago. My search for a Zagu look-a-like in Chitown led me to Joy Yee’s. I came here for the Tapioca fruit freeze only. And the food was just an unexpected discovery, a very delicious finding actually.

Here’s a sampler of what I ordered during my recent visit. They all look appetizing in pictures; all the more in actual bites.

Fried Calamari with sweet and sour chili sauce

Malaysian Spicy String Beans
