(Chicago) –  Give me sushi and sake, I’m in paradise; make it unlimited, I’m in heaven.  Most of the all-you-can sushi places here are just mass producing sushi crap, as in very bad. But Shiroi Hana in Wriggleyville in Chicago serves good, tasty and not too ordinary sushi variations.  The options for Japanese appetizer list, ranging from fish, pork, salad, seaweed, etc, are vast and they‘re all great tasting. Yes, you can eat all the appetizers you like too.

The best part of all— they have “takoyaki” (octopus puff).  At one point when I was younger, I got so addicted with “takoyaki”.  Almost every day, on my way home from UP (my alma mater), I had to stop by this tiny stall close to the checkout counters of SM Makati grocery store to get my daily dose of this fluffy, velvety seafood Japanese balls.

I will go back again and again to Shiroi for the “takoyaki” alone. All the carbs you gain here is worth it. I’ll let the pictures below speak furthermore.  🙂
