(Chicago) – It’s not difficult for a Pinoy to love Columbian food. The overall taste of Colombian dishes is familiar to a Filipino tongue.  Sancocho, for instance, which is a traditional meat soup, tastes just like “nilagay baka/baboy” to me. Also, they have empanada, corn, cassava root and all kinds of meat such as steak, ribs, chicken, sausage and pork.

Whenever I crave for Colombian food in Chicago, my go-to place is Las Tablas. Fantastic grilled meat and it’s BYOB (bring your own beverage) from Mon-Thu. They used to have a beef lengua stew which tastes exactly like the Filipino lengua estofado but they removed it from the menu for some reasons. But it doesn’t matter, the other dishes are equally fabulous and I still like Las Tablas.
